Blooms

I think my floral paintings are really more about colour than the actual flowers themselves. If anything, I often strive to make the flowers unrecognizable, rather more abstract, and focus on how the various colours harmonize. At other times, I can be more precise. Sometimes my florals come in gorgeous vases, other times they’re just spread out joyously over the canvas. It always comes down too whatever I feel like doing and that’s where the real fun comes in. (All paintings are on Profile (1 1/2″) canvases, the edges are painted.)
